Strangely enough, Darnay bears an uncanny resemblance to another man in the courtroom, the dissolute lawyer's clerk Sydney Carton. LaGard Smith also includes some background information before each series of events. It's basically about demons, human demon hunters and a third rogue team (which could be either humans, demons or a combination of both) that produced drugs that turn people into monsters.
