What I liked about the last arc by Aaron was the interaction between the characters. With a book this big, you can't expect to like everything. It is true that we never get to know Leavitt in any deeply personal way but that can hardly be held against the book. The better question is how do you live. I must admit that I purchase them so I can relive the tales of Mantle's antics and laugh another time; Roberts' book provided fewer laughs although he did cover a lot of new ground as regards the detail of the 1956 season.
