Her stories are real and relatable and heartwarming. This is the third book by Haggard I’ve read along with two of his Ayesha stories and I’m a little surprised his name isn’t better known. He has caught a dozen harmless snakes on our property and spends a lot of time with them. But alas, I had to take care of my children and wasn't able to read for hours on end like I wanted to, lol. The book examines his life and how he became drawn to studying, photographing and documenting the lives of the great bear. And Ruth Connors, the girl who is haunted by Susie in the storyline, give voice to the underlying memories that those of us carry ever second of the day after the violent deed has changed our lives forever.
