I've been following Morrison's writing for about four years and bought Juniper Lane as soon as it came out. Hanks' plotlines seem simplistic not because he is lazy or "childish" but because he is making a point. A must have if you adore this genre. Being in the here and now and as Okakura writes: ‘The whole ideal of Teaism is a result of this Zen conception of greatness in the smallest incidents of life. It captures sad as well as humorous moments. Although styles in clothing, food, and camping gear have changed dramatically, three guys setting out on such a trip today would have pretty much the same mix-ups, snafus, and snits as this trio. But Trish has a list of things she wants him to work on, beginning with his pot belly and his geekiness.
